Lions Roar Winter 25/26
Whilst the Winter months did their best to drain the light from our days and bring the frost to our windscreens, Benson continued to ignite and burn the fires of productivity and resilience.
Clearly demonstrated through our Remembrance Day efforts both on and off station; we’ve shown we are committed to respecting the past whilst working towards our future. Raising funds, attending school seminars and ensuring the poppy continues to represent what truly matters protects our legacy and core values.
When compared to the other major events having taken place on station, we as the editing team are truly thankful to be part of such a high-profile unit. This coupled with the fact that our section representatives are always quick to realise the importance of their sections and their subsequent efforts. The articles for this quarter have been carefully written and selected, giving us what promises to be our most notable issue to date.
With this in mind, we always aim to improve the magazine and continue to up our game. This can only happen with unit support. Please continue your efforts and bring us the stories we love to read both on and off station.

Northolt Winter 2025
Since assuming Command of RAF Northolt in August 25, there is one phrase that I repeatedly hear from personnel (both military and civilian) visiting the Station – I never realised just how much happens here. I know that feeling only too well, having embarked on a journey of understanding the complexity and strategic importance of the station. Meeting with 38 Resident Units, and understanding their own unique Ways of Working, is no simple task but it has been incredibly worthwhile especially as we start to review and map our role within the Transition to Conflict framework.

Brize issue 6 2025
As we approach the festive season, life at RAF Brize Norton continues at full speed. Aircraft come and go around the clock, carrying people, equipment and hope to every corner of the world. Yet even in the middle of this constant motion, there’s a special sense of reflection and camaraderie that arrives with Christmas.
This edition celebrates not only the spirit of the season, but also the extraordinary spirit that defines both our station and the wider community.
Whether on deployment, on duty or at home, every member of the RAF Brize Norton family contributes to something far greater – ensuring the RAF’s mission continues, whatever the time of year.
Inside these pages, you will find stories that capture the heart of our station, service dedication, humour and heart. From festive gatherings to operational milestones, this issue shines a light on the people who make RAF Brize Norton what it is – a place of excellence, pride and family.
